I started with a program called GBPVR, a free (but not open-source) solution developed by a New Zealander named Graeme Blackley. It’s configurable and has an active developer community building plug-ins and skins.
President Obama was more eager to explore deep space, and officials hatched out a complicated plan involving harnessing a boulder from an asteroid into the Moon’s orbit, and exploring the mineral content of the new mini-moon. The proposal proved unpopular among lawmakers and space nerds. This cycle may continue indefinitely, as partisan fights serve as proxies for warring Moon and Mars camps.
Current telescopes tend to do processing over time, painstakingly trying to produce the most accurate images of space possible. Often, they undergo transformations to eliminate problems with their cameras themselves, or random noise.
Cassini has been hurtling through space on its way toward Saturn for the past six and a half years. On Wednesday evening, mission controllers at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory will fire one of Cassini’s engines, allowing the spacecraft to slip through the space between two of Saturn’s rings. The maneuver will put Cassini in orbit around Saturn, where it will remain for the next four years, studying the planet, its rings and its moons.
Worthy, sure, but long before Trump entered the political picture, open government and open data evangelists had been preserving all kinds of data collected and stored by the government, from crime statistics to unemployment rates to trade deficits.
Running for the highest office in the land is fraught with problems. You might be exposed as a drunken ninny who ducked out of Vietnam, steered several companies into the ground and never learned how to speak English real good-like (you would then stand a fine chance of winning).
With 90 percent of the feature-length project’s $8.5 million budget now funded, casting for Iron Sky is nearly complete, with filming set to begin in Australia and Germany this fall.
With few rivals wielding the financial clout to throw up fresh offers after the collapse of EchoStar’s (DISH) $18 billion bid, News Corp. (NWS) could bide its time to hammer out a deal from Hughes’ (GMH) parent General Motors (GM).

Why not just one big supercomputer? “The real business of virtual worlds is computation – space is computation.” Also there’s a basic act of intellectual effort required to create every space. “You’re going to have to have enormous amounts of computing power.” Will require real-time hosting infrastructures dedicated to each group of users: This means there’s a lot of money in infrastructure.
Each of us raised our right hands when we were sworn in as FCC Commissioners, took an oath and promised to uphold our duties and responsibilities ‘to make available, so far as possible, to all the people of the United States, without discrimination… a rapid, efficient, Nation-wide, and world-wide wire and radio communication service with adequate facilities at reasonable charges.’ Today the FCC majority officially abandons that pledge and millions have taken note.
John Buckman, founder and CEO of software company Lyris Technologies and Magnatune’s sole employee, said he developed the Magnatune concept after watching musician friends suffer under traditional record contracts.
HotOrNot, a website which began as a lark for its founders, turned into a phenomenon, and inspired a reality television show, has sold to a group of investors affiliated with Canadian company Avid Life Media.
“I don’t regret the time that I did it,” he told FOXBusiness.com. “It was great marketing, it brought a lot of great people in the doors, but from my own standpoint, if it’s not going to grow [my business] for me going forward, it’s not sustainable. To use it as a marketing channel is one thing, but to use it as the backbone of your business, there’s just no way it’s going to work.”
Click Communications put together this handy little Comic-Con Survival Guide, available for free download as a PDF from their website. It doesn’t list everything you’ll find at SDCC (and you’ll want to hang onto your official map of the exhibit hall so you don’t get lost) but it has a pretty good list of highlights, particularly a lot of the movies that will be coming out this year with short, easy-to-scan blurbs. (Unfortunately, they don’t cross reference these with the time and location where you’ll be able to catch them, but you’re pretty smart – you can figure that out.)
On the smartphone front, analysts said there will be neither surprise nor disappointment as the robust Galaxy S8 smartphones sales during the spring quarter appeared to have been offset by increased costs. Earlier in the day, Samsung began limited sales of the recycled Galaxy Note 7 smartphones, which were discontinued last year after they overheated and burst into flames.
